The innovation
lab for music,
arts & media

Wavelab is the innovation lab and entrepreneurship center of
the Munich University of Music and Theater for experiments

and ventures at the intersection of music, arts, and media

with new technologies.

About us

We support the creative and entrepreneurial potential of those involved in the cultural and creative industries — individually and specifically tailored to target groups, with a clear focus on music, arts, media, and tech, a diverse and resilient network in the world of culture and entrepreneurship, and the development of a strong community of like-minded people.

We offer inspiring events, workshops, and networking opportunities, as well as an incubator program for aspiring founders in music, arts, and media.

“Creativity meets entrepreneurial spirit – with full energy! The Munich University of Music and Theater demonstartes how innovation in the cultural and creative industries can succeed. As a strong member of the Upper Bavaria Entrepreneurship Hub and with its own innovation lab, it creates a stage for bold ideas, new technologies, and creative start-ups. Here, art becomes a catalyst for innovation and Munich becomes the nucleus for the cultural economy of tomorrow.”

Markus Blume (Bavarian Minister of State for Science and the Arts)
