Dr. Alina Gales’ work lies at the intersection of gender and diversity, as well as privilege and discrimination in the context of technology. She heads the Diversity & Inclusion Office at the Technical University of Munich, where she develops strategies to make the university an even more diverse and inclusive institution. She also explores how technology and society influence one another, particularly with regard to gender in the context of artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence does not make decisions independently of us. AI reflects our data, values, and societal perspectives – which is why we need to decide today what we put into these systems and what kind of future we want to shape with them.
